Biography :
The Centre for Rural Communities was established in 1995 with the dream of having a centre where rural and regional communities are the primary focus of activity, resourcing and research. Ventures include developing resources for professional development of facilitators to host study circles within communities to invest in local knowledge and ownership of local development. This evolved into Grad Cert course in Regional Community Development for approx decade. see https://www.ruralcommunities.com.au
Personal Statement :
The Centre for Rural Communities hosts multiple local groups working towards caring and healing our communities. For the last 9 years we have hosted Stories of Influence a gathering of storytellers sharing stories that have been hidden away under the bed in diaries, letters, reports, hearts and minds. The stories unpack language, lies and legislation that has stripped our once vibrant region and offer new ways of understanding and being in this country. https://www.ruralcommunities.com.au/stories
