Biography :
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Climate Emergency, Matt Sykes has kickstarted a new consultancy to empower leaders through regenerative business. After over a decade working with eco-pioneers and First Nations Elders around the Planet, he recognises that sustainability is not enough. Determined to pursue global solutions and take local action, Matt is now working with change-makers in the private, public and third sectors. His strategic and action-focused approach means that Matt brings great value to organisations that are willing to challenge the status quo.
Personal Statement :
In 2008, I was first introduced to sustainability at university. Where my peers gravitated towards western approaches, I felt the need and opportunity to learn from First Nations connections to Country. Over time, I has the privilege to listen to Elders and learn from communities across Australia and north America. Now, this two-way seeing and collaboration with First Peoples is a foundation of my life and work.
